Beauty Redefined

I'm a sucker for old rusty stuff. I think it's beautiful. But beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I stopped and photographed this 1949 Ford panel truck outside of Fairfax on Saturday. The owner, Barbara Conner, was nearby so I struck up a conversation. I commented on the beauty of the truck and asked a few questions. I learned that the city of Fairfax tried to get Barbara, the owner of Simply Iowa antiques, to remove it from her store property as they considered it an abandoned vehicle and an eyesore! You decide - junk or beauty! Enjoy!

WWII Warbirds

I enjoyed getting to see FiFi, the only B-29 in the world that is still being flown. I also enjoyed the P-51 Mustang and the F4U Corsair. These planes are beautiful examples of incredible engineering and elegant design.

The B-29/B-24 Squadron of the Commemorative Air Force was created in the 1970s to support FiFi.  The CAF B-29/B-24 Squadron is based at Addison Airport in the Dallas–Fort Worth area with the Cavanaugh Flight Museum.

Enjoy the images!

Rusty Beauty

I love photographing things that are old and have character. The rustier the better! I found this beauty the other evening. Enjoy!
